Red Touch Media‘s SXSW Firebird Gibson Guitar Giveaway officially ended yesterday and we’re ready to announce the winner. Last night we ran the select a “Random Winner” function in our contest app and Patrick Russell from Florida was selected.
Patrick just started a new band called Air Turns to Fire so please go Like their Facebook page. Patrick even sent us a photo (see below). Hopefully his new red Firebird Gibson Guitar fits right into his guitar collection.
We called Patrick earlier today to let him know that he’s now the proud owner of a Gibson USA Firebird Studio ’70s Tribute Guitar and documented the conversation for this blog post.
How does it feel to win a Gibson Firebird guitar? Are you excited?
How does it feel? Awesome. I am so excited and can’t wait for it to get here so I can play it.
Have you ever won anything as cool as a guitar before?
No way. Just a couple small things like a Shure 55SH microphone and a guitar holder by Re-Axe called the Axe Handler.
What’s the first song that you’re going to play on your new Firebird guitar?
It’s kind of hard to say, but probably one of my original songs.
Tell us about your guitar collection.
The Firebird will be my 6th guitar. I also own an Ibanez GIO RG which I repainted to be purple burst, a red Jackson Dk2m with a maple fret board, a Sigma acoustic, a white Gibson Les Paul studio (pictured below), and a black ESP LTD H-1007 7-string guitar.
Tell us something that your friends and family reading this font already know….
I have a curse that if i sit in the back of a 2 door car it gets rear ended.
